NOTE: Ribbon cutting postponed until Saturday, June 25, 2016 at noon!

Some important updates about our neighborhood pool:
It has been in big need of big repairs, and the city, through our council member, Leslie Pool, found $350K in funding to address existing health and safety concerns, improve the visitor experience and pedestrian environment around the pool and increase the operating efficiency.  Improvements to the pool included renovated plumbing, filtration, and decking. Plumbing renovations included the removal of 60-year old cast iron pipes that were losing substantial amounts of water daily. Additionally, new sod is currently being established on-site.

There is more work to be done.  Much! Swim 512 public engagement opportunities are slated for July. We need neighbors to show up to talk about what we need for the NW pool improvements and why it matters.  An audit showed major issues, the current improvements are just bandaids.

The next step in the SWIM 512 Aquatic Master Planning process will be the development of aquatic-facility system alternatives for public review.  Here is the one closest to Allandale, please save the date!
