District 7 mapDistrict 7 is profiled in today's Austin American-Statesman. The article's headline, "Growth, traffic encroaching on neighborhoods in Austin’s District 7," by Sarah Coppola, pretty much sums up the district's dominant concerns. The author writes: "Whichever candidate prevails here will represent distinctly different neighborhoods." The more central city neighborhoods in the district: Allandale, Brentwood, and Crestview which make up the southern portion, are more concerned with balanced growth while neighborhoods north in the district, Millwood, Scofield Farms and neighborhoods closer to Parmer Lane and east of I-35, are more concerned about traffic. And in the middle is the Domain. Allandale Neighborhood Association President, David Mintz, is quoted in the article as is Allandale resident and editor of austindistrict7.org, Steven Zettner. The article is on the front page of the Metro & State section with a photo of a family enjoying a pizza outside the Little Deli in Crestview.
