Forty years ago, Austin Community College opened its doors to students. ACC is marking that milestone Tuesday, Sept. 17, and we would like your neighborhood association to be part of the celebration.

The college will host ACC: It’s a Family Affair at ACC Highland (Highland Mall, 6001 Airport Blvd.), from 3 to 7 p.m. The event will include a Career and Resource Fair, showcase of ACC training programs, an exhibit of ACC’s history, a birthday party, and more. It’s all free and open to the public – so please share this with your friends and neighbors. Here’s the schedule:

3-6 p.m. Career and Resource Fair – Meet area employers, explore community resource organizations, learn about job/internship openings, and visit one-on-one with experts who can help polish your resume and interview skills.

Program Showcase – Check out hands-on demonstrations of ACC training programs in high-demand fields such as nursing, computer information technology, automotive technology, welding, culinary arts, and more.

“Then and Now” History Exhibit – See an exhibit of ACC history from 1973 to present.

Alumni Networking – Network with fellow former students and contribute ideas toward the launch of the college’s new Alumni Network.

Activities and Refreshments – Events and entertainment for the whole family.

6-7 p.m. 40th Birthday Party – The college marks 40 years of serving Central Texas.

6:30-8 p.m. Alumni Mixer – An opportunity for students from the past four decades to mix and mingle.

Bring your families and bring your resume! For more information on the 40th anniversary celebration and a detailed schedule, visit austincc.edu/40years.

Thank you, and hope to see you there.

Sincerely,
