2013 ANA Executive Committee Nominations

The Nominating Committee met throughout the first half of 2013 in order to consider candidates for the 2014 ANA Executive Committee. The nominee candidates come from diverse backgrounds, live across the Allandale neighborhood, and have served in leadership roles within Allandale, within our schools, and across the City.

Criteria & Procedure

  • Nominees are voting members in good standing [vetted, Allandale residents, dues paid].

    Last December, word spread quickly through Allandale that the long beloved Jorge’s was closing. I saw so many friends that last night, the place was nuts.  What was the attraction?  Certainly a family-friendly restaurant in the hood, and that they put up with a table of 4 families, 20 people, 10 of which were crazy, high energy kids.  Certainly the very strong margaritas to let the parents get through that dinner with the crazy kids. 
     

    Happy 40 Years, ACC!

    Forty years ago, Austin Community College opened its doors to students. ACC is marking that milestone Tuesday, Sept. 17, and we would like your neighborhood association to be part of the celebration.

    The college will host ACC: It’s a Family Affair at ACC Highland (Highland Mall, 6001 Airport Blvd.), from 3 to 7 p.m. The event will include a Career and Resource Fair, showcase of ACC training programs, an exhibit of ACC’s history, a birthday party, and more. It’s all free and open to the public – so please share this with your friends and neighbors. Here’s the schedule:

    Curbside Organics

    Since the Curbside Organics Collection Pilot began at the end of December, residents in the pilot have kept more than 2,270,800 pounds of organic materials out of the landfill. That’s a great start, but we know we can do better!
