Another Little Woodrow's in Austin is a step closer to opening at 5425 Burnet Rd in the old Nelson Puett Real Estate building. Yesterday, the Austin City Council voted 4-3 in its second reading of the zoning request that will allow the bar to open up there. Council members Laura Morrison, Kathy Tovo and Mike Martinez voted against the rezoning. In a brief summary in today's Austin American-Satesman about the vote, it was pointed out that "the bar would be 2,495 feet, just short of the 2,500-square-foot threshhold that would require 40 parking spaces instead of 20."  According to one of the neighbors in attendance during the Council's discussion of the item, the plan that LIttle Woodrow's put forth includes 2,495 feet of a bar, with 800 of those feet outside on decks, a separate 'restaurant' of 1,669 square feet – without a kitchen, and 669 square feet of corporate office. There are two office building behind the proposed bar that will be designated as "storage buildings."
