announcement from Laura DiCarlo:
Just wanted to remind everyone of the Compression Only CPR training happening this Saturday, February 16th 3-5pm drop in at NW Recreation Center (2913 Northland Dr Austin, TX 78757).
Thanks to Allandale resident Jenny Peterson who was going to take the training and asked if we wanted to bring it to our neighborhood. Thanks also to Christa McCarthy at NW Rec who is allowing us to use the space for free even after the rec center is closed Saturday.
See below for a little blurb from Hilary Higdon, an Austin fire fighter who will be teaching the technique on a walk in basis any time from 3-5pm.
Hilary was excited to do the training at this time because her office is working with Austin EMS to do a “Save a Sweetheart” promotion on Valentine’s Day with the media and she wanted to hold some events throughout the city/county on the following weekend (February 16 and 17) for people to learn TAKE 10.
The event is free and open to anyone who wants to come so go ahead and invite others. Refreshments will be provided by the Allandale Neighborhood Association Safety Committee.
