Efforts by the Texas Facilities Commission to enter into public private partnerships in the development of state lands has been put on hold by the Sunset Commision. According to this article,"Lawmakers: Halt public-private plans for Capitol complex" by Layland Copelin in Wednesday's Austin American-Statesman, the Commission voted 10-2 to put a hold on such proposals "until the Legislature can reconsider Senate Bill 1048, the 2011 legislation that formalized public-private projects." It appears the decision would also apply to proposals the Texas Facilities Commission has received from developers on state lands outside the Capitol complex, including the 75-acre tract at Bull Creek and 45th Street.
