Capital Metro will seek bids early next year for 33 Metro rapid bus stops for the new No. 803 line along Burnet Rd and South Lamar Boulevard. This will follow the work that will have already begun on the rapid bus line stops along North Lamar later this year. According to an article in today's Austin American-Statesman, "'Rapid bus' station work likely to start later this summer," by Ben Wear, operation of the Burnet Rd rapid bus line is scheduled to start in 2014. The covered stations, which will be spaced approximately one mile apart, will include benches, bike racks, and an electronic message board announcing arrival time of the next bus.
