The MoPac Improvement Draft Environmental Assessment has been approved for further processing by the Federal Highway Administration. That means the project team can now host a final public hearing to solicit community input on the proposed project.

The Public Hearing will begin with an open house from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. when displays, videos and other project information will be available for review. Project team members will also be available to answer questions.  At 6:30 p.m., a presentation will be given, followed by a public comment period.

At a public hearing residents can either submit written comments or give verbal testimony regarding their views about the overall project and/or specific elements of the proposed project. You may also submit official comments via Mopac Improvement Project web site or via mail to:

Hearing attendees wishing to give verbal testimony should be aware that representatives of the MoPac Improvement Project team are not permitted to answer questions from individuals who are in the process of making verbal comments. If you have questions about the project please contact us ahead of time or ask your questions of staff prior to submitting your written or verbal comments. All comments received as part of the public hearing process will be reviewed, documented and incorporated into the Final Environmental Assessment as appropriate.

Persons interested in attending the public hearing who require auxiliary aids or services, such as interpreters, are requested to contact TxDOT's Jon Geiselbrecht at 512-832-7218 at least five business days prior to the Public Hearing so that appropriate arrangements may be made.
