Hello all!. Because there are so many people I need to reach out to on this important subject, this is a bit of a form letter. I offer my apologies up front.

At some time in the past, either I or my staff have discussed traffic calming with you. During that discussion, we advised we are working to revise the program and that there would be an opportunity for folks to review the revised guidelines and procedures. Well, that time is now here. The revised program is called Local Area Traffic Management (LATM). Last Tuesday, November 8th, I made a presentation to the Urban Transportation Commission (UTC) on LATM. You can go to UTC's website and view the information shared at http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/cityclerk/boards_commissions/boards/bid50.htm. You can also check Channel 6 to see if the video has been posted at http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/channel6/.

The draft guidelines and procedures as well as the PowerPoint slides are posted on the UTC's site under the "Meeting Documents" button – look for the "Backup" files that are 1.3 MB and 1.5 MB in size, respectively.

Please take time to review and consider providing comments on the revised guidelines and procedures by December 5th. Do not respond to me as my inbox fills quickly as it is!. Instead, please send your comments to transportation [Email address: transportation #AT# austintexas.gov - replace #AT# with @ ].

We will be back at UTC in December following up on the comments received. Assuming no significant issues, the program will start in January. We will be considering a limited number of applications initially on a first come basis. Please do not submit any applications before we announce the commencement date
of the program.

I do thank all of you for your patience and input over these past several months. It's very likely I've missed someone; please forward as you deem appropriate.
