AUSTIN, TX – The intersection of 34th Street and Shoal Creek Boulevard will be closed to traffic for approximately four weeks, beginning on Sunday morning, July 24 for water and storm water improvements. Construction will include the installation of new 12” water lines, improved and additional storm drainage systems and the installation of a retaining wall at Shoal Creek. Access to businesses along 34th Street will be maintained by using Lamar or Medical Parkway to access 34th Street. Construction is projected to be complete by August 21, 2011, in time for the beginning of the new school year, weather permitting.
Citizens and business patrons should be prepared for detours and are advised to allow for extra time when traveling through this area and are encouraged to drive carefully and courteously while the work takes place.
