Informal Meeting: The Project Manager, Tony Krauss, will be available for questions at the north end of the excavation on Bull Creek Road at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. If you come, please stay out of the barricaded area.
Status of Box Culvert on Bull Creek Rd: The box culvert changes sizes midway between RM 2222 and White Rock Drive. The contractor is currently installing the transition between the different pipe sizes. It will probably take until Friday, July 22, for this work to be completed, and the driveways to be reopened. After the transition is completed, the contractor will resume installing the culverts northward on Bull Creek Road. North of the transition, there will be two 7 by 4 foot culverts.
For installation of the box culvert, about 400 feet of Bull Creek Road is completely closed to traffic on a 24-hour basis. The progress depends on the amount of rock and the conflicting utility lines. The closure cannot be reopened at night for safety reasons.
Bull Creek Rd, the block between Shoal Creek Blvd and RM 2222: Construction may resume in two to three weeks. The contractor will be installing a new water main and water services to houses on both the east and the west sides of the street for both blocks. The new water main may change the water pressure. The water main is a 12-inch pipe that will be installed about five feet beneath the surface of the road. It will not take as long or require as large an excavation as the box culvert. Driveways will probably not be blocked at night for the water main. However, we're anticipating that construction on the water line and services will take at least a month before the contractor can begin reconstructing the street. Before the end of the project, a final overlay will be applied to the pavement.
Intersection of Bull Creek Rd and RM 2222: The contractor will be laying the box culvert across this intersection with an open cut excavation as originally planned. The work will take place on weekends and one west bound lane on RM 2222 will be kept open. Our best estimate is that it will take about three months of weekend work. It has not been scheduled yet.
Bullard Dr: Most of the work will likely be completed by the end of this week. Afterwards, the contractor will be cleaning up and restoring any damage. There may be a short break between completion of the work and the street being repaved.
Greenbelt near Shoal Creek Blvd and Bull Creek Rd: The work in the greenbelt is almost complete. A hand-rail still needs to be installed.
