There are a lot of projects going on the neighborhood: utility, beautification, construction, etc. As frustrating as it is having to navigate around all of the detours and putting up with the noise and debris, these are welcomed improvements. In the April newsletter, we report on status of the drainage project, the remodeling of the Northwest Recreation Center, and dedication of the remodeled green house at Gullett. The major cleanup at Northwest Park was going on as this newsletter was going to press and we had no time or room to report on it. I recommend however that you visit the park and see for yourselves. There was a lot of time effort devoted to the imprvovements and what a difference!
The lead article in the newsletter is on the Lamar Middle School Safe Routes to School (SRTS) efforts to take advantage of street improvement projectst that will benefit all but specifically, children walking and riding to school.
I want to thank all of the volunteers who contributed to this issue of the Allandale. All of these improvement projects combined with all of the volunteer efforts from residents remind me of what a great neighborhood we live in. We care. Click here to download the newsletter.
