Hi folks —

There is a big maintenance blitz coming up for NW Park. PARD is going to focus a bunch of resources on the park, and plan to address a huge amount of items provided by the neighborhood.

Please help spread the word, we need lots of help — PARD will be providing staff to orient and lead volunteers. Show support for Northwest Park by participating in one of the volunteer days. This is a huge new initiative from PARD to do a maintenance blitz on one park in each district.. and NW Park was selected. This is a pilot project, please jump in and participate.

PARD will be providing all the supplies and tools that are needed to get the work done.

Here is the rough schedule.

Saturday, March 26 – 9:30 – 11:00
Family volunteering with Little Helping Hands
http://littlehelpinghands.org/
And neighborhood volunteers working to clear cattails, mulch and
prepare picnic tables to be painted

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, March 29, 30, 31 – 7:00 am-2:00 pm –
Volunteers can work directly with PARD staff.

Saturday April 2nd 9:00 – 12:00 Noon – Family volunteering with
Little Helping Hands
http://littlehelpinghands.org/
Plus the final round of mulching. We need to mulch ALL the trees in
NW Park, and the more bodies we have show up the better
Final paint on the picnic tables

We need volunteers to get all this mulch spread and to work alongside
the PARD staff as they work to clean up our little green gem.

This time.. I also need help from anyone who can help with pre-event
errands and the set up on the Saturday events. I broke my leg (bad
timing) – so anyone who can walk and carry things would be a huge help
getting the volunteer stations set up etc.

Thank you all for your tremendous support of Northwest Park. Please
help spread the word, I will be posting more detail on the work once I
get the approved list back from PARD.
