June is here, and July 4th is not far behind.  Here are the details for the July 4th Parade, 2010.

Sunday, July 4th – assemble at 8:30 a.m., White Rock and Bullard for the Allandale Neighborhood Parade that began in 1960 – 50 years ago.

9:00 a.m. – Parade steps off with banner, lots of elected officials, Scouts, and Allandale folks, bikes, dogs, rabbits, cars, on the way to Gullett School.

To follow:  the 4th of July ceremony and awards We are usually done by 10:30 a.m.

What I need:  Scouts – I have phone numbers from last year, but I know that Scout leaders change. Scouts have always had an important role in the Parade – they carry the banner, do the colors, and the Cubs and Daisies carry the signs of the elected officials.  They also sell cupcakes, hot dogs, or other things. I also need:  Some Lamar/McCallum band members to play.

ANA will have the water. We will have other vendors.nI also need volunteers:  to help with the judging and line up the participants in some sort of order.nBut most of all I need:  lots of participation from the neighborhood, so decide how you are going to get out the red, white, and blue, and come to the parade!

July 4th will be here in 33 days!  Not much time!
