For those of you not participating in the Thunderclouds Sub Turkey Trot, I am leading a bike tour of Allandale on Thanksgiving morning at 9:15. The tour is a little under 11 miles and will take about 1 1/2 hours. Seeing the neighborhood by bike is a great way to discover the charm and history of Allandale. Here are some hints of what will be covered on the ride: big type books, buried authors, water over the banks of Shoal Creek, sealed-off homes, another shopping option on the way, a Japanese pond, and the dinosaur find.
This will be a casual relaxed ride. We will stop at a points of interest along the way. Meet Thursday morning at 9:15 a.m. at the Yarbrough Library, 2200 Hancock. Helmets must be worn. There is no cost to ride. While getting exercise is one of the benefits of the tour, it is not intended to be a workout. Participating riders are expected to cover the distance without much trouble. Please email me to let me know if you plan on participating. For safety reasons, I am limiting it to 8 people. %20tlinehan [Email address: %20tlinehan #AT# austin.rr.com - replace #AT# with @ ]
