Need to recycle your old computer? Drive over to the north side
of Highland Mall on Saturday, Nov. 3, where Austin Energy, Solid Waste Services,
Dell Computers, Highland Mall and Goodwill Industries of Central Texas will
host the first Highland Mall E-cycling Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

You won’t need to get out of your car; the event is designed
so you can drive through a recycling line. Volunteers will be on hand to do the
lifting, hand out complimentary environmental tips and a free compact
fluorescent light bulb (to celebrate Change a Light, Change the World Month).

Accepted for recycling are:

· Computers and computer-related accessories.
· Small household electronics such as radios, DVD players, telephones and cell phones.

Note: Large appliances, copiers, big screen or console TVs, appliances and microwaves will not be accepted.

Please remember to clear your hard drive before you recycle
your computer. Our Clutter Diet<==>members can read our article "Ten Disposal Resources for Computer Junk" for ways to safely remove your hard drive’s data.

For directions, call Highland Mall 451-2920. For questions about recycling, call Goodwill Industries of Central Texas 637-7500 or check www.austingoodwill.org or www.austincomputerworks.org.
