It’s not too late! Interested volunteers can still sign up. Here is the information again:

It’s My Park! Day is on Saturday, April 22nd from 9 -1. Allandale has one of over 40 park projects being organized for this year’s event by the Austin Parks Foundation. Our project for a second year is a general cleanup of a stretch of Shoal Creek and the greenbelt park area from Allandale/2222/Koenig south to Hancock (or as far as the number of volunteers allows!). We’ll also be clearing the base around some of the bigger trees.

To register, go to  When signing up, be careful to pick Project No. 13665 as there are actually other Shoal Creek Projects. The Foundation’s main page is

If we’ve gotten your interest, you should plan to arrive just south of the Shoal Creek Blvd intersection at Allandale/2222/Koenig by 9am for a brief orientation and we’ll wrap up by 1. Stay as long or as little as you like. Be prepared to get your feet and legs wet in the creek. It’s best to wear long sleeve shirts and bring work gloves (although latex gloves will be provided). We won’t try to get kids too wet but they are welcome with adult supervision.

Any questions about our project should be sent to me at pdnagy [Email address: pdnagy #AT# - replace #AT# with @ ]. Also contact me if any help is needed in registering.

Thanks and we look forward to your participation.
