If you are interested in very fine art, don't miss the "open studio"
of Allandale's own artist Roi James on Saturday, November 19.  Below
are details including a link to his fabulous website:

Warm greetings to all,

It’s been quite awhile since I sent my last email. I just wanted to give everyone an update on new work and upcoming events. I’ve attached an image with my latest figurative piece titled "Meditation on

It is an oil on panel and measures 67" x 41" unframed, and
70" x 47" with the frame. I rendered the butterfly using to different palettes and
believe it or not, I actually used a photograph of a butterfly with wings of
the same coloration. I believe
it was caused by light reflecting off of one wing causing it to show a different coloration. Anyway, I loved the idea of a butterfly with two different wings. It seemed to fit so well with my idea of our constant evolution and perpetual change. It also added a bit of mysticism to the work. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the piece. It is currently in the studio and is for sale. If you or anyone you know may be interested, please let me know. I’ve added it and detail shots of it to my website.

You can see them at: Just scroll

down to see the detail images.

I’ve updated my website to include my latest Figurative,
Landscape and Abstract pieces ( . For those of you familiar with my block paintings (Paintings of Innumerable Possibilities),
there will be 3 in this open studio, one is finished and two are in progress
but will be done by the 19th. I
haven’t added that single block painting to the website yet because the mantle that it sits on has not been finished,
but it will be
added by next week.

I am currently preparing for my upcoming open studio, here
in Austin, Texas. It will be held November 19th, from 11am to 5pm, and
I will be giving an artist’s talk at 2pm. The address is 5705
Shoal Creek Blvd. and for those of you familiar with the area, that is just north of the
2222/Shoal Creek Blvd. interesection.

Anyway, thank you so much for your interest in my work and I
hope to see you at the open studio.
